FUNDRAISING LETTERS: CAMH, UNICEF

Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Toronto)

In my first year as Creative Manager at Fundraising Direct I helped secure an exclusive contract with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto. This mailing was created shortly after and proved to be the most successful in the organization’s history, bringing in more donations than any other mailing before.

To attract as much attention as possible, we chose a square envelope made of rich velum. Inside, the donor found a personalized letter from the CEO, a handwritten note, and an invitation to an exclusive event.

UNICEF Canada

Excitingly, for this mailing UNICEF Canada agreed to try a more image-driven layout. We developed a letter that looked and felt like a magazine article, including large full-colour images on all four pages helping to document the success of UNICEF activities; in this case saving the life of a little girl in South Sudan.

West Island Palliative Care

The West Island Palliative Care Residence in Montreal is one of Fundraising Direct’s oldest clients. To help celebrate their 15th anniversary, we developed a greeting card to thank all past donors for their support.

The cover of the card featured a photo of staff and volunteers at the Residence. The inside included hand-written notes from the same people. Donors and members of the community were deeply touched by this personalized letter.
